Faqs
The Nitty Gritty
Cask Conditioned
This is the traditional method of serving beer where the yeast is still present in the cask. Yeast acts as a natural preservative so the beer has a longer shelf life (up to 3 months), but once opened, it should be consumed within one week. For the beer to pour clear the yeast needs to settle to the bottom of the cask. This usually takes 24 hours, during which time the cask should be in a cool place and should not be disturbed until after the beer is consumed. Cask beer should be served at 10-14 degrees. We will provide you with a tap, stand and everything you need to dispense your beer.
Keg
This is perfect if you want a cold, carbonated beer. Our keg system includes a party pump, which uses air pressure to dispense your beer, so there are no gas canisters to worry about. We'll also supply a large sturdy bucket, so you can pour ice around the bottom of the keg to keep it cold. Once you start pouring the keg, the beer should be consumed in one day.
*Please note a £50 deposit is taken per cask and a £100 deposit per keg to ensure its safe return with the associated equipment.
