Scottish Beer Awards 2017
Oh, what a night!
Last night we attended the second annual Scottish Beer Awards at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange and it did not disappoint!
After being shortlisted for four business and nine taste awards, we could barely contain our excitement for the announcement. We are delighted to say that we came away with three incredible awards and could not be prouder!
Stewart Brewing won Product Development of the Year, an award illustrating our commitment to bringing out new, exciting and delicious beers. This year alone we've added eight new beers to our eclectic range, and that's not including the 30 beers we brewed up for our beer festival in May and the 20 for Oktobeerfest! We're so grateful for this recognition and can't wait to live up to our title and bring out even more.
Steve Stewart was crowned Master Brewer of the Year for his tremendous contribution to the development of our brewery over the past 12 months. Not to mention, his contribution to the brewing industry, such as the Natural Selection Brewing project and as a member of the ICBD Advisory Board. He's grown our brewery to a capacity able produce 20,000 hectolitres per year, all while developing the brand, increasing sales and opening our retail outlet the Dockside Tap. Massive congrats, Steve, everyone in the team is delighted for you!
To top it off, They're Coming to Get Rhu Barbara, our 4.5% Sour Pale Ale with Rhubarb collab with BrewDog Castlegate was awarded GOLD in the Sour Beers category! This is a firm favourite amongst the team and we're chuffed that it managed to achieve recognition in this brand new category! Believe us, the competition was tough!
Huge congratulations to all of the other winning breweries; Scotland really does have some amazing talent! If you'd like to see the full list of winners, click here.
Thanks to KDMedia for putting on such a great event! We can't wait to take part again next year!
