Edinburgh Beer Festival last Saturday seemed to fly past! We were chuffed with the turnout, amazed at the weather and thrilled with the beers, so we wanted to share some highlights - both ours and yours. 1. Pelican Grain Train, our collab with Fallen Brewing, was the first keg Edinburgh Beer Festival attendees finished. A charming pink hue with a delightful berry aroma, this elderflower and bramble wheat beer was a hit even with those who didn't think they loved beer. https://twitter.com/serialsockthief/status/721353832165457921 2. For those gluten free festival goers who couldn't enjoy Pelican Grain Train, all the gluten free options were pretty cool. The sorghum cold brew IPA, made using Brewlab's coffee, had a proper caffeine kick to it, whilst the Irish Pakora from Fresh rEVOLUtion were really rather moreish. https://twitter.com/cazmonkeysround/status/721364774957817857 3. With a few more beers sunk, it was time for food. The bright red of the raspberry saison got us thinking of the rich tomato topping on the incredible Big Blu woodfired pizzas, so that made our choice. Once we'd secured food, it was time to shelter inside again, as we certainly witnessed four seasons in one day at Edinburgh Beer Festival. Third band of the evening, The Alibis, even played their storming set during an actual hailstorm, which kept this committed beer fan's Dystopian 14.5% Wild Imperial Stout pleasantly cool. https://twitter.com/AramoroA/status/721412384536059905 6.
