Since our first brew in 2004 our aim has been to brew great quality beer and deliver excellent service, (and have fun in the process...)

We use the finest raw materials, have excellent brewing equipment and practices, and well designed systems.  We brew loads on our 40 Litre trial plant and choose the very best recipes to brew on our 10 Bl Brewery,  delivering them locally in either Cask or Bottle format

We have a great team at Stewart Brewing who aim to uphold the tradition and reputation of Edinburgh's great brewing history in a modern and innovative way.

Our Hollyrood Beer has just won World's Best Blonde/Golden Pale Ale at the World Beer Awards 2010

Stewart Brewing’s Hollyrood beer beat strong competition, including multi award winning Fin de La Monde to win the title of the World’s best blonde/golden pale ale after being awarded Europe’s best blonde/golden pale ale earlier in the competition. The awards, established over 5 years ago, involve a gruelling taste off against over 500 entries from around the world with esteemed judges Roger Protz and Jeff Evans leading the judging panel.

The judging panel at the World Beer Awards described Hollyrood as hazy in colour . . . Bready aroma . . . Brisk citrusy hops (earthy, herbal, tart) on top of sweet caramel . . . Light malt body with hops predominating . . .  Juicy oranges lead in the taste, which is mostly sweet but with a little countering bitterness . . . Light, bready texture and some spicy warmth . . . Bittersweet, bright with lots of fruit; pineapple, mango, grapefruit and orange characters . . . Oranges linger the drying finish . . .Sweetness slowly fades and then a little bitterness kicks in . . . Highly quaffable.

Stewart Brewing’s founder and MD, Steve Stewart, said: “This result is just great! We’ve only been brewing the bottles for less than a year and the sales in Edinburgh have taken us by surprise. The fact that we now have this award against some of the World’s toughest competition is a true testament to the skill and dedication of the brewing team up here in Loanhead. The guys have done a great job!”
